On Saturday, March 21, Homebase presents an evening of international HipHop at FIXY. The program will be headlined by New Zealand-based rapperMazbou Q and will also feature performances by Norway Hip Hop legend Sonof Light (a.k.a. N-Light-N), local sensation KATLEGO, and a DJ set fromDeejay Irie.Mazbou Q's music pushes the boundaries of Hip Hop and takes inspirationfrom the likes of Fela Kuti, The Roots and Black Star. His lyrics aresocially conscious and explore his unique cultural identity.Son of Light, formerly known as N-Light-N, is a prominent Norwegianrapper and a key figure in Norwegian Hip Hop. He is closely associatedwith Tommy Tee's label, Tee Productions.KATLEGO is a Groningen-based artist and producer known as a fresh voicein the Dutch Hip Hop scene. Her music is raw, emotional, and diverse,drawing inspiration from everyday life.Homebase's resident DJ Deejay Irie will be behind the decks thisevening, and Groningen OG MC Sherlock will be hosting.This event closes off the 2026 European Hip Hop Studies Conference:“Things Done Changed: Hip Hop Futures for a World on Fire”, which takesplace in Groningen from March 18-21, 2026
